Where to Set Up Camp

When it comes to camping in North Devon, there are plenty of options to choose from. You can opt for a designated campsite, find a hidden spot for wild camping, or request permission to camp on a farmer’s land.
Each choice offers its own unique advantages and considerations, so it’s important to consider what you’re looking for.
Alternatively, embrace the versatility and freedom at Whitemoor Camping, where we offer a range of options to suit every camper’s preferences.
Immerse yourself in nature with luxury in your own private glamping plot, relish the secluded bliss of wild camping down by the river in your own secluded spot, or join us at our main campsite where spacious camping plots await your tent.
Whitemoor Camping has been thoughtfully designed on our farm to harmonise with the natural environment. We welcome campers who share our respect for the countryside, wildlife, and the preservation of the surrounding ecosystem.
Essential Gear
Regardless of your chosen camping style, certain essentials are a must-have for your trip. Be sure to pack a reliable tent, a cosy sleeping bag, and a camping stove.
However, if you opt for glamping at Whitemoor Camping, rest assured that our luxury bell tent provide all the comfort you need, eliminating the need for a tent (and sleeping bag) of your own.
It’s also advisable to bring ample warm clothing, as the temperature can drop during the night.
Alternatively, take delight in the warmth of an open fire and cooking over an open flame – a great way to keep warm!

GOOD Based on 35 reviews Elysha Carter07/10/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a small intimate wedding here in September and it was perfect! The venue was dressed beautifully and there was lots of help from the owners on arranging the flowers and cake ect. Food was brilliant and owners were very attentive we cannot recommend enough! Jill Box25/08/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a little beauty of a site, views just beautiful, onsite showers and toilets spotless and lovely and warm perfect owners and the little dog who welcomed us, plus booked the same day we arrived at short notice, thankyou Kevin Pinch15/10/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Loved it, owner very helpful, this will be my go to site when visiting north devon, stunning views of codden hill, tip access from the A377 bishop tawton side, although narrow lane its a very short drive Rachel Haynes09/10/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great campsite, particularly for camper vans - small site, friendly, clean facilities. And a lovely view. Darren Casey01/09/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Quite expensive and not easy to find along a VERY narrow road. Late check in (3 pm), and the owner wanted an additional £18 for us to arrive 2 hours earlier. Very small and cramped electric pitches and far too close to other guests tents. We couldn't have our car or trailer on our pitch and couldn't even set up our tent porch. Toilets & showers are clean but rudimentary and quite far from pitches. The owners dogs are running free around the site and one of them left an unpleasant deposit at the side of our tent. Very muddy on walk to showers & toilets. Melinda Smallbone06/06/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great wedding venue lovely hosts highly recommend acidhouse198805/09/2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really nice site and fantastic amenities. Even had fridges to store your cold goods. Thanks for the stay. Catherine Holt05/08/2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Family wedding event. Lovely setting and staff. Maybe some shade could be provided for outdoor events as was a bit uncomfortable sitting outside in the full sun. Matthew Smith03/08/2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lovely hideaway site set in a valley behind Barnstaple. Only three minutes into the edge of town but it feels like its miles away. 20 mins to beaches, Croyde etc a little further. Showers hot, loos clean and really useful shed with fridges, freezer and electric points. Would definitely stay again.
