Whitemoor Camping offers an idyllic retreat, tucked away in the picturesque North Devon countryside, providing an unparalleled camping experience for the whole family.
Whether you’re a seasoned camper or new to the outdoor lifestyle, our rural campsite is the ideal destination for creating lasting memories.
Why Whitemoor Camping is Perfect for Children
At Whitemoor Camping, we prioritise creating a safe and exciting environment for children. Our camp field is thoughtfully designed to be vehicle-free, allowing ample space for your little ones to roam and play freely.
Imagine the joy on their faces as they sprint through the open fields, their laughter echoing in the fresh, Devonshire air.

Surrounded by walks and cycle paths, nestled in the foothills of Exmoor National Park, there is always a reason for children to put down their phones and tablets and go adventuring in the great outdoors.
Our campsite also features a well-maintained football pitch, providing endless opportunities for friendly matches and exhilarating goal celebrations 😀
Additionally, we have comfortable picnic benches, where families can gather for a delightful outdoor meal, immersing themselves in the tranquillity of nature.

As the evening draws near, our open fire pits become the focal point for stories, marshmallow toasting, and bonding moments, as children and adults gather around the crackling fire, sharing tales of their day’s adventures.
As darkness falls, picture your children’s wide-eyed wonder as they gaze skywards as the milky way and thousands of stars come into view.
Being nearby to Exmoor National Park, an International Dark Sky Reserve, Whitemoor Camping allows us the privilege of witnessing the stars and constellations like never before, with the naked eye.
Whitemoor Camping really does provide the perfect setting for families to reconnect and embrace the beauty of the natural world.
For the Grown-Ups

While your children revel in the joys of Whitemoor Camping, we ensure that parents and guardians have plenty to enjoy as well.
Our campsite is conveniently located within walking distance of Bishops Tawton and the village pub, a traditional 15th century thatched inn, providing a relaxing and sociable atmosphere for adults (and children).
After a day of exploration and outdoor activities, you can unwind with a refreshing drink and savour great food in the friendly atmosphere.

GOOD Based on 35 reviews Elysha Carter07/10/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a small intimate wedding here in September and it was perfect! The venue was dressed beautifully and there was lots of help from the owners on arranging the flowers and cake ect. Food was brilliant and owners were very attentive we cannot recommend enough! Jill Box25/08/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a little beauty of a site, views just beautiful, onsite showers and toilets spotless and lovely and warm perfect owners and the little dog who welcomed us, plus booked the same day we arrived at short notice, thankyou Kevin Pinch15/10/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Loved it, owner very helpful, this will be my go to site when visiting north devon, stunning views of codden hill, tip access from the A377 bishop tawton side, although narrow lane its a very short drive Rachel Haynes09/10/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great campsite, particularly for camper vans - small site, friendly, clean facilities. And a lovely view. Darren Casey01/09/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Quite expensive and not easy to find along a VERY narrow road. Late check in (3 pm), and the owner wanted an additional £18 for us to arrive 2 hours earlier. Very small and cramped electric pitches and far too close to other guests tents. We couldn't have our car or trailer on our pitch and couldn't even set up our tent porch. Toilets & showers are clean but rudimentary and quite far from pitches. The owners dogs are running free around the site and one of them left an unpleasant deposit at the side of our tent. Very muddy on walk to showers & toilets. Melinda Smallbone06/06/2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great wedding venue lovely hosts highly recommend acidhouse198805/09/2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really nice site and fantastic amenities. Even had fridges to store your cold goods. Thanks for the stay. Catherine Holt05/08/2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Family wedding event. Lovely setting and staff. Maybe some shade could be provided for outdoor events as was a bit uncomfortable sitting outside in the full sun. Matthew Smith03/08/2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lovely hideaway site set in a valley behind Barnstaple. Only three minutes into the edge of town but it feels like its miles away. 20 mins to beaches, Croyde etc a little further. Showers hot, loos clean and really useful shed with fridges, freezer and electric points. Would definitely stay again.
