Directions

From the M5

Take Junction 27 of the M5 signposted the A361 to Barnstaple.

When you get to the Portmore Roundabout on the edge of Barnstaple, take the 1st exit signposted A361/A39 Atlantic Highway.

Turn left at the first mini roundabout onto the A377 signposted to Bishops Tawton and Exeter.

Pass Bishops Tawton Primary School on the left hand side then take the 1st left into Sanders Lane. This is a single track road which becomes Whitemoor Hill.

Whitemoor Camping is on the 2nd right.

From Exeter

Take the A377 from Exter towards Barnstaple.

The A377 takes you through Bishops Tawton village.

Look out for the church on the left hand side and a butchers shop just after.

Take the next right into Sanders Lane. This is a single track road which becomes Whitemoor Hill.

Whitemoor Camping is on the 2nd right.

Whitemoor Camping is set on a picturesque small farm overlooking the village of Bishops Tawton, just a couple of miles from the North Devon coast. It offers lovely views over the Taw Valley in a peaceful & tranquil setting surrounded by pasture grazed by sheep.

Off the beaten track and away from traffic it is only 2 miles from Barnstaple and 15 mins. drive from the beautiful sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay and Putsborough Beach and also from the foothills and breath-taking scenery of the Exmoor National Park.

The site has been created in keeping with its natural environment and welcomes Campers with tents that respect & enjoy the countryside & wildlife and are sympathetic to the natural surroundings. Primarily designed for Tents, Caravans and Camper Vans can be accommodated by prior arrangement.

The village of Bishops Tawton is within walking distance and offers 2 thriving pubs serving food and an award winning Butchers shop selling a variety of provisions.

Whitemoor Camping offers:

  • Utility block with mains flushing loos, hot shower, wash basin, wash-up area, shaving point, electricity mains plugs, outside cold water tap.
  • Borehole providing beautiful, filtered natural Devon drinking water.

Tariff

Camping in North Devon off the beaten track…

Adults (over 18’s):  A minium fee of £16 – £8 per night per person (based on a min. of 2 sharing).

Children (aged 5 -18): £5 per night.

Under 5’s: Free.

Dogs & Cats: £2 per night.

Plots issued according to size of tent and number of people.
